5 Reasons Why You Should Elope in The Catskills
You may be thinking about eloping in The Catskills and may be wondering what makes it so very special. The Catskills are rich in history, vast in stunning scenery to take in, filled with restaurants that will leave your taste buds wanting more, and so much more! I’m not only your photographer, but also your guide and I’ll tell you 5 amazing reasons why you should elope in The Catskills below!
Reason 1: Lower Costs
Nowadays, weddings can be so costly, speaking from experience as someone who has gone through the wedding planning process! Eloping in the Catskills could typically range from $4,000 to $8,000 or even more depending on what you plan to do. Eloping in the Catskills allows you to focus on your union, your close family and friends if you want them there, stunning photography, and a nice meal too! Some couples simply have just the two of them, maybe their pet, and they elope in the nature for instance! The only costs would be your outfits, your rings, your marriage license, an officiant if needed, any permits if needed, your elopement photographer, florals, and food! Additional costs could be fun expeditions/adventures.
Reason 2: So Much To Do
No matter the season, there are so many activities that you can do in The Catskills! Here is a list of activities: hiking, antique shopping, see a concert, museums, swimming, fishing, biking, zip-lining, star-gazing, skiing, snowboarding, and so much more! If you like to relax, it’s nice to spend a day in the nature and come back to a cozy fireplace and read a book or snuggle up!

Reason 3: Beautiful All Year Round
Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer… you name the season and The Catskills are sure to delight you! My personal favorites are Winter and Fall, but the warm seasons are just as lovely. If you want a quieter season for an elopement, I’d recommend Winter or Spring. Fall is absolutely stunning, but is a busier season. Be prepared to go to secret locations that your photographer scouted instead of the popular spots to avoid the crowds.
Reason 4: Relaxing Atmosphere
The Catskills are very laid-back and have a relaxing atmosphere! Whether you like to stroll downtown and grab a coffee or go for a hike to unwind, you’ll find it in The Catskills! There are so many gorgeous, local inns, hotels and bed and breakfasts that can accommodate you. Some even have spas built in where you could get a couples massage.

Lastly, you’ll have a photographer that will take everlasting photos that will help you cherish the memories forever. You’ll want to remember the experiences that you had together on one of the most important days of your lives!
